About a month and a half ago, while attending an “after-hours” networking event for the Chamber of Commerce, I had the pleasure of meeting John.  After several minutes of introductions and talking a bit about ourselves, we realized that we were each waiting for someone.  Come to find out, we just happened to be waiting for the same person-my makeup artist, Melissa!  How’s that for a small world!  As it turns out, they know each other from several years ago, prior to Melissa and I meeting.  We exchanged business cards and engaged in more great conversation, eventually including Melissa, when she finally arrived.  I met several other wonderful business-owners and executives that evening, prior to departing.

The following week I received a request from John to come out to his office and shoot some executive portraits of him, and his staff, for web and print use.  In addition, John informed me that he had been voted best Financial Advisor in the Detroit market (for the 2nd time, mind you!) for Hour Detroit Magazine!  So, he also wanted to try and pull an image from our shoot to send in for the 2013 “Best of” spread, that runs in the magazine in June.  In the short time I have gotten to know John, I have been immensely impressed by him.  He is an amazing person!  Not only is he so effective at what he does for a living, and so dedicated to his business and servicing his clients, but he is genuinely a kind and giving person.  In a world that seems to be overrun these days with plenty of people determined to push their personal agendas in your face, John seems to take a very refreshing approach upon meeting new faces, by simply asking people about themselves and then listening.  John is friendly, conscientious, honest, sincere, funny, hard-working and just an all-around great guy.    I have been consistently impressed by his never-ending knowledge of a vast majority of topics, including trains, art, history, wine and more.  I consider myself lucky to have met him and to now call him a friend, mentor and professional acquaintance.  I would highly recommend his professional services and his associates, who were equally impressive and approachable.  If you would like to learn more about John and his team, please click HERE.
