This year’s Tour de Cure-Walk and ride to fight diabetes was again another successful event! Our host and venue, Comerica Park, was the perfect setting and despite the rainy, overcast morning, we had a pretty wonderful turnout of dedicated walkers and riders. This was my 5th year photographing the event and it’s so wonderful to see so many of the same families coming out year after year. The kids were having a blast dancing with the Lions mascot and everyone enjoyed the upbeat and energizing song selections from our super-talented DJ, Nick, from DJND Entertainment, who kept the crowd pumped up!
This year’s event was a combination event, including 3 routes for riders and 1 route for walkers. Our second group of riders was led by our role model and Red Rider Rudy, a celebrity of sorts, who riders of all ages are usually eager to meet and talk with! If you haven’t yet met Rudy, you would surely be inspired by his amazing story of hard work, dedication and a road to a new life without diabetes!

Thanks to everyone who came out and helped the ADA to raise over $300,000 for diabetes!
