We are so very excited to announce the date for our 2nd annual “Headshots for Humanity” fundraiser for Operation Smile! This year’s event will take place on Saturday, May 18, 2019 from 10:00am to 2:00pm and will be hosted by the Holiday Inn Express in Belleville.
100% of the event proceeds will benefit Operation Smile, which provides free surgeries to repair cleft lip, cleft palate and other facial deformities for children around the world, thanks to thousands of volunteer doctors, nurses, dentists and specialized health care professionals.
Every three minutes a child is born somewhere in the world with a facial deformity. One in ten will not survive to see their 1st birthday. Those who do often live in isolation and pain. More than 100,000 children are born with a facial deformity each year in Operation Smile’s 26 partner countries. Tens of thousands remain untreated. It takes as little as $240 to repair one smile and change a child’s life forever!
In our efforts to raise awareness and raise funds to help these children and their families live a better life “Headshots for Humanity” was born!
Everyone could use an updated headshot! Maybe you need one for your social media profiles (are you one of those people who doesn’t have a photo on your Linkedin profile?) We’ve got you covered! Use it for your Facebook page, work website/newsletter or college graduation or promo/marketing materials for work. All the while, you’ll be helping us to make a BIG difference in the lives of children in need. Bring your teenagers or college-aged kids and show them the meaning of giving. They can have a professional portrait taken as well! Together, we can do something great!
All participants must be registered. Upon arrival you will receive a special gift bag and be entered into a free raffle for a spectacular prize basket! Enjoy refreshments, great conversation and networking with other local professionals. We will also be providing job search resources and tips for making better use of social media tools including Linkedin.
And as a new, special addition this year for all veterans and military personnel: Your $24.00 donation will be paid for by our friends at Moving the Mitten Real Estate Group as our co-sponsor! In our efforts to support transitioning military personnel and veterans in search of jobs, we want to assist you by providing free headshots, job search resources, resume-writing services, continuing education sources and more. These resources will be available to you at the event.
